Desiccant air dryers

Supplier
Atlas Copco Tools Australia

The CD range of desiccant air dryers is designed for applications such as pneumatic instrumentation, assembly of electronic components, surface finishing and delicate material handling and packaging. The range provides pressure dewpoints between -20 and-70°C to produce high compressed air quality.

Unlike traditional desiccant type dryers which continuously purge air of about 15-20% of the full rated flow of the desiccant dryer, the CD dryer range reduces the amount of purged air to minimise running costs. It does this by harnessing the smart technology present in an electronic controller called the Elektronikon which continuously controls the amount of air in the regeneration process, ensuring that it is at a minimum.

Models up to CD 32 are designed for wall mounting, while larger sizes are floor mounted with minimum space requirements. Pre and after filters are integrated within the range, eliminating the need for separate physical filters.

Product spoilage is minimised as the controller regulates the regenerated air to ensure optimum compressed air from the dryer.

The controller displays an overview of the dryer's operation at any given time, allowing users to diagnose a potential problem. It also directly monitors the differential pressure of the integrated filters displaying filter status and warning messages, and allows the dryer to be monitored from a distance and to be networked.

The dryers do not use any refrigerant.
